Who is Mr Fan?
Bernard Fan is a maths teacher with 10 years of experience teaching all abilities from KS3 to KS5, a KS5 Maths Lead, and an examiner for Edexcel and AQA at GCSE, IGCSE, A-level and IAL. Everything on this site is written from that classroom and marking experience.

What is BF Maths?
BF Maths is a free A-level Maths resource hub created by Bernard Fan (Mr Fan), a maths teacher, KS5 Maths Lead and examiner for Edexcel and AQA. It offers a solution bank of worked solutions, learning notes and videos so students can learn ahead or catch up at their own pace.
Are the resources free?
Yes. Every worked solution and set of learning notes on BF Maths is free to view and download. No account or sign-up is needed.
Which exam board do the resources follow?
The solution bank and learning notes follow the Edexcel A-level Maths specification: Pure Year 1, Pure Year 2, and Applied (Statistics and Mechanics) Year 1 and Year 2. The content overlaps heavily with AQA and OCR, so students of other boards can use them too.
Can I open the PDFs on my phone or tablet?
Yes. Each file has a View button that opens the PDF in your browser and a Download button that saves it, and both work on desktop, iPhone, iPad and Android.
Does Mr Fan offer tutoring?
